Regular training for volunteers takes place on Tuesdays from 6:30 – 9:30pm, and new volunteers are always welcome. We will offer and participate in special training events throughout the year including First Responder Level 3, live fire training, air brakes and driver training – just to name a few. For more information about becoming a volunteer firefighter, drop in on a training session, e-mail Chief Gil Lainey at chief@pmvfd.ca, or check out the Region District of Fraser Fort George’s Volunteer Firefighter FAQ page.

There are many ways to contribute and get involved so we welcome people with a range of abilities and goals who live in our area. This is a great place to volunteer and build skills, especially if you are in, or are interested in, building skills in firefighting, medical services, mechanical trades, professional driving, administration, or even event planning. We’re a welcoming bunch and we take pride in our hall, our member’s level of professionalism, and our PGX and Boot Hockey trophies!

To get you started we have a rookie package to give you some basic skills. Once that is completed you begin a 6 month probationary period, and afterwards you may become a full member of the Pilot Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.
